RAPID SCHED WITH PAYOR RULES

Rapid Sched allows athenaPractice users the ability to quickly schedule a patient from the Patient Registration module.  Users can click the button called RapidSched at the top of the Registration screen and the following search criteria screen will display for the user:

Users can perform any combination of the following functions:

1) Select a pre-defined Criteria setup in athenaPractice
2) Select All or multiple facilities
3) Select All or multiple providers
4) Select All or multiple appointment types
5) Select a Starting Date for searching appointments

Based on the search criteria, Rapid Sched will display the first 30 results that match the search information. Rapid Sched can also build out rules by combination of Provider, Appointment Type, and Financial Class to limit the number of patients for a specific financial class/appointment type which can be scheduled in a given day (refer to Creating Rapid Sched Payor Rules at end of this document).

The user can then select the appointment slot by clicking the check box and Create New button.

The Rapid Sched report will allow for monitoring of appointments scheduled through the Rapid Sched module.

CREATING RAPID SCHED PAYOR RULES

Within the Administration module of athenaPractice, users can click on the Rapid Sched Rules button in the ribbon area.

Users can edit existing rules or create new rules.  The rules are designed to place limits on the number of “available” appointments by Provider, Appointment Type, Financial Class, and day of the week.

When adding a New Rule, the user can select any combination of Providers, Appointment Types, and Financial Class along with how many patients per day can be scheduled under this rule.

Important Rule Reminders
• When the daily limit = -1 that tells the system there can be an unlimted number of patients scheduled for that day based on the rule.
• When multi-selecting Appointment Types, the limits per day apply to the collective total of scheduled appointments for all Appointment Types selected and not individual limits.
