Chart Complete Notification and Audit System For Centricity® CPS / athenaPractice™

How will Chart Complete Notification and Audit System assist my providers?

Chart Complete Notification System will monitor all signed documents (associated to an appointment) for document completeness including History of Present Illness, Review of Systems, Physical Exam, Assessment, Plan, and Orders. When any of these key elements are missing, the provider will receive a Flag notification indicating which elements are missing from the document.

How will Chart Complete Notification and Audit System assist my billing staff?

Chart Complete Notification System is designed to provide billing staff with progress indicators on documentation related to an appointment and ticket in athenahealth (formerly GE) Centricity CPS (documents placed on Hold and Signed by providers).

Chart Complete Notification System is designed to assist billing staff with compliance by holding a ticket until the documentation has been signed by the provider to avoid services being billing prior to the provider signing off on the documentation.

How has Chart Complete Notification and Audit System benefited Virence groups?

“The Chart Complete software connects the EMR chart status to the Billing Screen billing status in GE. Instead of having an FTE review notes to determine if the note is closed, the software creates a greater level of accuracy and less manual review to determine which encounters are ready for claims production.” – Barry Allison, Chief Information Officer, Center for Primary Care PC

Workflow for Signed Documents:

Provider clicks Sign Document on document in patient chart:

Once the document has been signed, a notification will appear in the Visit Description field in Billing indicating the document has been signed by the provider and the Visit Status on the ticket will be set to In-Progress or Hold. If the signed document is missing any audit elements, the Vist Status will be placed on Hold so the billing staff can investigate further.

1) When the documentation is signed and all elements are accounted for, the Visit Description will display Chart Completed and the Visit Status will be set to InProgress.

2) When the document is signed and there are missing data elements, the missing elements will display in Visit Description and the Visit Status will be set to Hold.

Workflow for Documents Placed On Hold

Provider clicks Hold Document on document in patient chart:

Once the chart has been placed on hold, a notification will appear in both the Appointment Notes in Scheduling and the Visit Description field in Billing and the visit status will be set to Hold until provider clicks Sign Document:

Provider Notification Of Incomplete Documentation

When a provider signs a document which contains incomplete information, a Flag will be generated to the provider of the document indicating the elements of the document which are missing.
